The aftermath of COVID 19

Despite the lifting of COVID restrictions, we should be mindful that cases may rise again, especially in the winter months. It's important to keep showing kindness and looking out for each other by continuing to take precautions in certain situations and following the five big things:

  • Give others space
  • Wear a mask in high-risk places
  • Get tested and self-isolate if you have symptoms
  • Mix outside / let air in
  • Get both doses of the vaccine

This will help to protect vulnerable people and support those who look after us and keep us going by delivering important services, from health and care to public transport and shops.

Getting Active Outdoors

The risk of transmission of COVID-19 is lower outside. There are also many additional benefits of exercising outside compared to indoors, especially in local parks and green spaces. Although, we are still advising people to give others space, even if they are outside.

Keeping active Indoors

Even though we now have more opportunities to exercise in public indoor settings, it’s important to remember that exercising outdoors reduces the risk of transmission.

Exercising at home also remains a good way to keep fit whilst minimising the risk of transmission. There are plenty of ways to stay active in the home, even for those who are considered to be extremely vulnerable, so long as they're fit and able to do so.

See below for a list of resources for people of all levels to try at home.
