Mixenden Nature & History Trails

As part of the community-led investment in Mixenden, Active Calderdale has recently funded two walking trails: a History Hike and a Wild Walk. These trails, co-designed with the community, will be installed in the Hebble Brook woodlands by Summer 2024.
Nature Nurture CIC is a social enterprise focused on connecting communities with green spaces. They co-created the Hebble Brook walking trails with residents, incorporating their feedback into the design.

Twice a year, Dr Alexandra Potts, our evaluation lead from Leeds Beckett University, reports back to Sport England on the learnings, progress, and challenges we have experienced over the previous six months in our bi-annual Process Evaluation Report.

At Active Calderdale, we have been working with schools to deliver new ways to build active travel into the lives of pupils, parents and staff. Through our School Streets program, we have found a way to reduce emissions around many of our schools, boost safety, and promote getting active.
