St Matthew’s Church in Rastrick is not just a place of worship – it’s a growing hub for community connection and wellbeing. With support from Active Calderdale, the church has launched new Pilates and indoor kurling & bowls sessions at its Parish Centre – a welcoming and accessible space familiar to regulars and now open to the wider community.

Glofit Gold in Rastrick is a dance class with a difference. Aimed at older adults and suitable for wheelchair users, it offers a low-impact way to enjoy movement to the uplifting beats of the 50s, 60s, and 70s.

In March 2025, Beat the Street turned North Halifax into a giant playground — and the community responded with enthusiasm, energy, and a healthy dose of competition.
